| 2 oz. chocolate 1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon cinnamon 3/4 cup flour Melt chocolate and butter over slow fire, put in mixing bowl, add sugar, milk, egg,vanilla, flour sifted with B.P. Do not stir until all ingredients are in, then beat hard for several minutes, until smooth. Bake @400 degrees about 1/2 hour in coffee cake tin. Coffee Frosting Melt 2 squares of chocolate over low heat with 1/8 lb. butter (or 6 tbsp. of cocoa and 2 tbsp. shortening and butter). Add 2 cups of sifted powder sugar, stir until very creamy, add cool coffee, using your judgment, for thickness. Dorie |
