A Day in the Life of a Shoe

Hi! I'm Phil and I'm Jill and we are twins. People don't think we are alive, but we are. There is one thing we have got to say to you. . .wake up and smell feet.

Now we are going to tell you our story.

We had just entered Academy and were placed on the shelf when we heard, "Mom, Mom look at these shoes." The girl was pointing to us. We hoped she was a size 4 1/2 and she was. She bought us and took us home. She could not wear us until the first day of school though, August 11, 1999.

Yah, today was the day she was going to wear us. It was the first day of school. She took us out of our Nike box and placed us on her feet. She had pretty clean feet compared to the other people who tried us on in the hour we were at Academy.

She took us down to the kitchen and there we saw the most frightening thing, a dog. We are scared of dogs because they chew on us, pull our shoelaces, and there is a chance we could step in dog poop. We walked out of the back kitchen door, and we noticed a lot of little things on the ground, crawling. Now like we told you before, we have never been outside, so this was new to us.

Next we went to the bus stop and she sat on the curb. Finally the bus came and she rapidly walked up the stairs and to the back of the bus and sat down. The bus floor was disgusting. Gummy bears, and a whole bunch of trash littered the floor. The bus drove for about 15 minutes. We noticed most of the shoes other people were wearing were much older than us. When we finally got to her school, she walked up the stairs to her LC. We were surrounded by many more shoes. Some were big, some were small. There were shoes of all different sizes.

Then a little bit later we went to a place called PE. We went outside and ran a lot. We accidentally stepped in an ant pile but luckily we did not get any ants on us.

When school was over we rode home on that disgusting bus which was even more disgusting since more loads of kids had ridden on it. We walked home, and she wiped us on the carpet, took us off and put us in the shoe box.

That was the end of day one.
