What a life, to be more repetitive than a Mannequin. Forms exist in space; therefore, we exist in space. Art is relative. For years my work has primarily dealt with forms existing in space. Three aspects: the form, the plane, and the space occupied. Why should a 60 year old tree in a pasture be any different from an iron on an ironing board; both are forms taken for granted, each exists in our everyday life. We have become a repetitive nation. Miss that morning cup of coffee and the day is bad. How did we exist without the computer? Hard to fathom, but we did. I often wonder: If Picasso were alive today, would he be painting, or would he be the creator of South Park or Pulp Fiction? Where are we as a culture? The Artist is as much a plumber as a painter. We live in a world of many changes, but are these changes for the good? Ask your self: How often do you wake up in the life of a Mannequin?
